A Remarkable Day in Red Clay

Recently, we proudly welcomed Delaware Governor Matt Meyer to Dr. Joseph E. Johnson, Jr. School for a special ceremonial bill signing in the library.

Governor Meyer signed House Bill 119 and Senate Bill 80, two important pieces of legislation designed to strengthen support and resources for students and schools across Delaware.

Governor Meyer was joined by the bills’ sponsors, Representative Griffith, Senator Lockman, Senator Mantzavinos, and Representative Burns, Delaware Secretary of Education Cynthia Marten, Delaware State Librarian Annie Norman, as well as other invited legislators, district leaders, and community members, and our own Superintendent Dr. Dorrell Green!
