Community Schools

What is Community Schools?
A community school is a place and a set of partnerships between the school, community-based organizations, and other resources. Schools become centers of the community -- open to children, parents, and community members before, during, and after the school day. Community schools do not follow a specific program; they represent a shared strategy among partners and stakeholders to promote improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities.
Community Schools are seen as a hub that meets the needs of the entire family in one place. As such, they take school, family, and community connections to another level.
